Two arrested for attempt to attack Admiral’s wife

Two yet to be identified persons are presently being detained at NNS, Apapa for allegedly attempting to attack the wife of the immediate past Flag Officer, Western Naval Command, Admiral Amin Ikioda at the Redeemed Christian Church, Apapa in Lagos yesterday.

They were allegedly arrested by naval details attached to the victim’s convoy. The incident occurred at about 11.30am.

Though details of the attack were still sketchy, a witness said charms and other yet to be ascertained concoctions were allegedly recovered from the suspects.

Another source alleged that the suspects were arrested before they could lay their hands on the woman who was attending a church programme.

As I speak to you now, the admiral’s wife is now at the Nigerian Navy Reference Hospital, Navy Town, Ojo where she is being treated as a result of the shock she had, he said.

The Command Information Officer, Lt Commander Jerry Omodara, who confirmed the incident, said Mrs. Ikioda is hale and hearty, and she had no body harm.
