Funding, a major challenge to mining and steel sector -Arc. Sada.



The Minister of Mines and Steel Development, Arc. Musa Muhammad Sada, has identified funding as the Ministry’s major challenge.

The Minister stated this at the press briefing that focused on the score card of his Ministry in the last two years.

The Ministry he said, has been preoccupied with ensuring that the nation has vibrant, responsible, efficient and effective mining and steel sector, capable of meeting the needs and yearnings of a modern and competitive industrial economy.

He added that the Ministry is focusing on transforming the mining and steel sector into the major driver of Nigeria’s economic development process, as well as to unleash vast jobs creation through availability of mining sites all over the nation.

The Minister further stressed that mechanism has been put in place to sanitize the mining sector through regulatory framework before issuance of licenses to deserving investor.

The Minister added that due to the deregulation in the sector, serious mining investors from all over the globe have so far showed commitment and interest in Nigeria’s mining and steel sector.
