Navy Boss Urges Graduating Recruits To Ensure Selfless Service



The Chief of Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Dele Ezeoba has urged graduating recruits of the Nigerian Army depot, Zaria Kaduna to always project the image of the military profession through discipline, dedication, commitment and determination to serve their fatherland.

Ezeoba, who made the commendation at the combined passing out parade of the 69 Army regular recruits and batch 22 of Nigerian Navy trainees at the depot, gave assurance that, within the available resources, the Nigerian Military would continue to train, equip and cater for the welfare of soldiers to meet the required standard.

The arrival of the Chief of Naval Staff who was also the reviewing officer held so much expectation as military personnel mounted tight security check points conducting stop and search exercise.

With relatives and friends of the grandaunts who trooped in to witness the parade, the Navy boss kick started the passing out parade for the 3, 133 soldiers and 1,200 naval ratings immediately after his arrival.

Against the backdrop of contemporary security challenges in the country, the Chief of Naval staff said the training of Navy recruits at the depot is part of efforts towards improving operational synergy and internal security operations skills of Nigerian Navy personnel.

The training according to him is to produce naval personnel that are better grounded to operate efficiently in the contemporary security environment in the country.

The Nigerian Army depot, Zaria as the oldest military training institution in Nigeria was established in 1924.

Since its inception about 85 years ago, the depot has not relented in its noble and distinct role of training qualified and physically fit young men and women as soldiers for the manpower needs of the Nigerian Army.
