FRCN to commence digitization of stations

The Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria, FRCN is to draw a roadmap for its digitization to meet the global deadline of 2015 cross over.

This is one of the resolutions of the FRCN 2013 National Programmes Planning Conference, the digitization roadmap should take into consideration a mix of old and new technologies, pending the Corporation’s final exit from analog technology.The communiqué stressed the need to reactivate short wave transmitters of all FRCN national stations to enhance clear signals of network programmes.

It stressed the need for every staff of the Corporation to regard himself or herself as a marketer as part of strategy to generate more revenue.

The Communiqué stressed the need for the Corporation to motivate its talents appropriately to avoid their movement to other media organizations.

It stressed the need for General Managers of FRCN FM Stations to domesticate the stations in the heart of their host communities by focusing their programmes on grass root needs.
