The First Lady, Dame Patience Jonathan has commiserated with the former Governor of Lagos State, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, over the death of his mother, Alhaja Abibat Mogaji, the erstwhile National President of the Market Women and Men Association of Nigeria.

The First Lady described Alhaja Mogaji as an illustrious and well loved matriarch who made an indelible mark as a frontline women leader and grassroots social “mobilizer.”

According to Dame Jonathan, the contribution of the late Iyaloja-general of Nigeria to national development will forever be valued and celebrated for its impact on human development, especially among Nigerian women.   The First Lady recalled that Alhaja Mogaji nurtured many entrepreneurs to financial independence, while she had a positive impact nationally, through her philanthropic works.

Dame Patience noted that the demise of Alhaja Mogaji was a great national loss and prayed that Almighty Allah, in his infinite mercy, should grant Asiwaju Bola Tinubu and his entire family as well as the Government and people of Lagos State the fortitude to bear the loss of a great Nigerian icon.
