Some Northern Senators have appealed to Nigerians to eschew violence and embrace dialogue as a means of resolving grievances.
They were reacting to reports of fresh cases of ethno-religious vio...lence, especially in some parts of the North, in which many lives have been lost.

Senator Abukakar Sadiq Yaradua a member of the Congress for Progressive Change, CPC representing Katsina Central, advised youths not to allow themselves to be used by anybody to shed blood, in the name of religion.

In his opinion, Senator Ibrahim Musa, another member of the CPC, representing Niger North, called for concerted efforts by all Nigerians to check the current security challenge.

Senator Musa commended the proposed Amnesty Programme for the Boko Haram members, and expressed the hope that the measure would bring a lasting solution to the current problem.
