THE Movement for the Actualisation of the Sovereign State of Biafra, MASSOB, has asked Igbos across the globe to observe a sit-at-home on Saturday June 8 to protest the continued massacre of their kinsmen in Nigeria.
MASSOB regional administrator for Onitsha North, Mr Vincent Ilo, said June 8 was set aside to pray and fast for the liberation and emancipation of Ndigbo and remember the six Igbo indigenes murdered at Apo Village in Abuja in 2005.
MASSOB further said it was appalling for the Federal Government to negotiate amnesty for Boko Haram members, while planning a clampdown on non-violent MASSOB.
The group threatened that if the Federal Government made good its threat to prosecute its leader, Chief Ralph Uwazurike, and five of his colleagues for treason, it might be forced to react negatively.
It called on President Jonathan to order the release of 20 members of MASSOB, who were arrested yesterday by security agents in parts of Oyi Local Government Area of Anambra State, while having a peaceful meeting.
